Review: Kindle Case with Light

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover

I was fortunate enough to receive a Kindle last month for my birthday, and have been loving it. However, those of you who already own one (which I would assume is most of you if you're reading this review) know that as cool of a device as it is, the Kindle was designed in such a manner that it really needs a cover.

When I started looking for cases for my Kindle, I found most of them to be lacking in one way or the other. Either they lacked certain features, were cheap looking and feeling, were not well-made, or were inexplicably ugly.

The first one I bought (by a well-known company, nonetheless) was cheaply made, and the stitching started coming out of it after only two weeks of admittedly heavy use.

However, upon the recommendation of a friend, I bought the burnt orange version of Kindle case with light a few weeks from http://www.kcases.org, and have been extremely impressed.

This cover solves all of the problems I either had with my last cover, or was worried about. The quality of the leather is very high, and the colors are uniform. This Kindle case feels much like carrying around a Moleskin notebook; quality all the way.

The lights works perfectly, and unlike with some other covers it fills the entire screen. While I see that one person had a problem with battery life related to the light, I haven't noticed any deterioration in battery life by using the light.

This cover is tough, too. I caught my Chihuahua (who for some reason likes to chew on both plastic and leather) trying to chew on the end of my Kindle when I left it on the coffee table. To my pleasant surpise, I only had to wipe the spit (yuck!) off the cover. He hadn't done any damage to it at all, which speaks to the high quality of the leather.

I would definitely give this case a good buy recommendation. Especially for those who like reading by the bed.
